Do you feel overwhelmed sometimes? It can happen when we're trying to push through all the things we feel responsible for, when what we actually need in that moment is a little space. When we're trying to toughen up and push through - I call this 'survival mode' - tensing up, forcing ourselves to keep going, rather than listening to what we, or others, really need.

There's no easy fix right now, and it can be frustrating because high-performing people like to move far and fast. But if we allow some space for ourselves, each other, our family and our teams, we can stop pushing and turn 'survival mode' into a 'sustainable mindset' of optimism, creativity and connection.

Creating some space can be just taking a breath, closing the office or bedroom door for a moment while you gather your thoughts, or taking a walk and enjoying a different environment for a few minutes. This daily practice, shifting from survival to sustainability in our energy and mindset, inspires new thinking and allows new solutions to open up to us that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
